An afternoon at Spa Botanica

I love doing spas, especially massages in a nice setting.
Had heard of Spa Botanica at Sentosa for some time but did not have the chance to try it.

Finally after some "negotitations" with my partner and due to unavailabilty of time slots at the other spas we frequent, we decided to give Spa Botanica a try.

It was hard to get a slot last minute (48hrs) and made 2 x 1 hr massage instead of the 1.5hrs we planned to.

Our appointment was at 3.45pm. We're aware that as spa guests, we're entitled to enjoy the facilities in the compound and hence, reached the premise at 1pm.

Being first timer at Spa Botanica, we were requested to complete a customer profile form. The staff was quick to take note that I was indicated that I'm allergic to lavender and assured me that the therapist will be informed on my allergy. We were then showed to the male and female changing room, each equipped with a towel counter, a small lounge area, lockers, and the hotl/cold pools.

The staff was supposed to bring us around to introduce the facilities to us. But as the crowd starts to stream in, they seem to have forgotten about us. We'd no problem with that and proceed on our own to the 22m pool area. Fresh towels were placed on the chair. We found the spot we like and settled down quickly.

The empty pool looked ultra attractive to an avid swimmer like me. Before long, I'm already doing laps in the pool all to myself.

Behind the pool area, there was a shallow pool with a mini waterfall and 2 floating mats. We didnt get to use the pool there as there were already couples there and we thought that we might as well stick to the main. Just opposite this pool is a mud pool area whereby you can apply the mud onto your body for detoxifying benefits. I tried this and must say that find my skin smoother and pleased with the effects.

Before we realised, our time for the massage is up and we were whisked into our respective treatment rooms. My therapist was a chatty middle age lady, with outstanding service. After the massage, I was brought into a lounge area whereby I can sip tea and water without any time pressure.

Too bad that I don't have the time to try out the hot (under maintainence) and cold pool as I don't want to keep my partner waiting.

But overall, I'd say that it's a good place to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon there and I'm sure that I'll be back and hopefully to do a 1.5 hr massage instead.
